Our Private Hunting Lodge
You will be staying at a private hunting lodge set amongst the native bush with outstanding views across a spectacular geological valley where a glimpse of a deer or goat is common. The main lodge houses the kitchen and lounge area, with an open log fire where the talk of the days hunt is retold while the meals are prepared.
Modern warm, carpeted cabins with hot showers and efficient wood burners provide a place to rest after the hunting day. We have an emphasis on New Zealand’s finest food and wine. Meals are in keeping with the setting, as you might expect game is frequently on the dinner menu. A hearty breakfast starts the day for whatever pursuit awaits. We can arrange specific food requirements to meet all tastes.
On a clear evening the sky is a brilliant array of stars with the calls of New Zealand’s native owls and Moreporks providing a night time serenade. In the morning you will awake to the dawn chorus of New Zealand’s unique Tui and Bellbird.
Helicopter transport can be arranged from anywhere in New Zealand, and we can arrange transport from Auckland International Airport or our local domestic terminal at Taupo either by vehicle or helicopter.
