Learn Empowering Survival Skills

Most of the time we’re fine living in our world of modern conveniences. We get clean drinking water from the taps, food from the supermarkets and we have a warm insulated house to go home to.

But what would you do if a natural disaster occurs? Whether it’s a fallen tree knocking out your power for hours or getting lost wandering in the bush, knowing a few basic survival skills could be the difference between life and death.

In order to help you be a little more prepared in unwanted situations, Chris Jolly Outdoors is offering an Interactive Survival Walk where you will learn basic survival skills from finding water and food to building shelters. Our guide will show you how you can fully utilise the items you have on you and other discarded items you may find around you.

Get in touch with your inner explorer as you learn to  survive off the land, with nothing but a knife and a few items onhand. Learn about the native New Zealand bush, but also how you can survive in the wild in your own natural environment. You will go through a fun and empowering learning process of show me, help me, let me. Be assured that you will leave with a set of skills you can take with you anywhere in the world.

Surviving is all about being in control; control of your environment; control of the situation; but most importantly control of your emotions when in a stressful situation. These skills are transferable to your everyday life. Skills that can be learnt (time dependant in each package):

  • Learn to create fire without the use of matches or lighter.
  • Protect yourself from the elements, by building your own shelter.
  • Learn to navigate the celestial way.
  • Make your own filter for water so that it’s safe to drink.
  • Create traps to catch food.
  • Make your own stove out of an old soft drink can.
  • Create fish or eel traps with nothing but a disused cola bottle or clothing.

These are just a few of the skills you will take away with you from this Interactive Survival Experience

During this journey into survival you will be introduced to a selection of primitive and modern ways and learn a few of the skills that they will need to stay alive, in the face of a crisis.

Our boy loves the outdoors a lot so we decided to to this as a treat for him. We learnt so much as a family and some skills will come in handy during our camping trips

From fire making to how to navigate and even what insects and plants we can eat if we ever do get lost in the bush. WOW is all I can say.
