What is snowshoeing?
Snowshoeing is an adventure in the snow using special snowshoes to prevent sinking in soft snow and provide grip when the snow is hard or icy. It is simply walking in snowy conditions. The snowshoes adjust to almost any boot size, and are very easy to walk in. This is an amazing opportunity to experience traversing through snow in the North Island without needing to be skilled on skis.
Who can do it?
Everyone! Snowshoeing is for kids and adults, beginners and seasoned veterans alike who want to enjoy nature in winter. If you can walk, you can snowshoe. People of all ages and fitness abilities can enjoy this experience as it is not technically challenging, unlike skiing. Furthermore, snowshoeing gives you access to landscapes that go way beyond the limits of the most skiers.
